26th February 2026

26 February, 5:00 – 6:30pm
Wānaka Library, Dunmore Street Wānaka

Join Te Kākano Aotearoa Trust for a hands-on workshop where you’ll learn how to harvest harakeke (flax) respectfully and weave your own simple plant guard.

Inspired by mātauraka Māori and created in collaboration with local weaver Enger, Kaumātua Darren Rewi, and master weaver Roka Ngarimu-Cameron, this session introduces the tikaka (principles) behind gathering and crafting with harakeke.

A practical, meaningful way to connect with te taiao and support local restoration mahi.
