Love Wānaka supports organisations and initiatives who work in the climate, conservation and biodiversity space – accelerating our region’s shift towards a regenerative future.

We’re here to support your mahi – here’s how:

Each year, we allocate funds to local organisations who work in the environmental sector, with the inaugural Love Wānaka funding round opening for expressions of interest from April 2024.

Funding will be allocated to registered charitable entities who work within the Wānaka region in the climate, conservation, and biodiversity spaces, with special consideration given to organisations and initiatives that will provide long-term benefit and that have great visibility for both locals and visitors.

Our independent distribution committee will oversee the allocation of funds, with support from our charitable partners at The Wakatipu Community Foundation.

Stay tuned for further details regarding our first funding round or contact [email protected] with questions, ideas or initiatives we might like to know about.

*Love Wānaka exclusively serves the Lake Wānaka region,  bound by the Haast Pass in the North and the Cardrona Saddle in the South, including Hāwea, Luggate, Albert Town, Cardrona and Makarora. Funded projects or organizations must create  benefit within this geographical area.

Love Wānaka connects visitors with volunteer opportunities within our region, so they can lend an hour, or two, to a local cause that’s close to their hearts.

Fill in the form here to get your events and volunteer opporunities live!

For ongoing or recurring events, feel free to contact us regarding a permanent listing.

We want to connect our visitors to our place by sharing the stories of our people. Reach out if you have a story to tell, a community event to promote, or an opportunity for visitors to get their hands dirty.
