A fun day for all the family to explore Bullock Creek – a unique Wānaka urban wetland on World Wetlands Day. This event is co-hosted by Otago Fish and Game and Friends of Bullock Creek Trust and will be held at the Bullock Creek Wetlands at 107 Stone St, Wānaka from 11 AM – 2 PM on Sunday 2 February, 2025.
You will enjoy an interactive morning meeting other local environmental groups and participating in their displays, demonstrations and games for the kids.
See how Fish & Game monitors fish species and habitat in Bullock Creek, and practise your casting with a fun fishing game. Learn the importance of keeping our storm water unpolluted with Wai Wanaka. Discover the tiny creatures that live in Bullock Creek with Otago Regional Council and learn more about the NZ native plants being restored to the Wetlands with Te Kakano. View the fascinating world of bees with Tiaki Bees and meet the teams from Wānaka Backyard Trapping , QEII Trust and Otago Catchment Communities.
Friends of Bullock Creek will be hosting a FREE BBQ – so bring a picnic rug and enjoy exploring Wānaka’s unique urban wetland.
