Love Wānaka supports grassroots environmental mahi throughout Wānaka – helping sustain the environment at the heart of our home and provide a lifeline to those working so hard to protect this place for generations to come.

We’re here to support your mahi – here’s how:

Each year, we allocate funds to support grassroots environmental mahi (action).

Funding is available on an annual, contestable basis to registered charities who work in the climate, conservation, and biodiversity spaces in the Wānaka region, with special consideration given to organisations and initiatives that will provide long-term benefit and enrich the experience for both locals and visitors in Wānaka.

The 2025 Impact Grants round is open from 08 July – 06 August.

Click through for further funding information or to submit an application.

Love Wānaka connects visitors with volunteer opportunities within our region, so they can lend an hour, or two, to a local cause that’s close to their hearts.

Fill in the form here to get your events and volunteer opporunities live!

For ongoing or recurring events, feel free to contact us regarding a permanent listing.

We want to connect our visitors to our place by sharing the stories of our people. Reach out if you have a story to tell, a community event to promote, or an opportunity for visitors to get their hands dirty.
