Join Te Kākano for a community planting day at Peninsula Bay. All welcome!
27th June 2026

Roll up your sleeves and support community-based restoration efforts with Te Kākano.

Join us on Saturday 27 June, 1.30-3.30pm at Peninsula Bay.

This is a new, multi-year planting site for Te Kākano.

The site was previously planted in Douglas firs and pines, and was cleared in November.

We are working with QLDC, the Upper Clutha Wilding tree group, the Upper Clutha tracks trust and Bike Wānaka on this project.

Location: the site is located at the end of Penrith Park Drive, Wānaka.

Directions: Walk or bike in if you can. If driving, park at Beacon Point Reserve and walk to the site, or park on Penrith Park drive, but please park considerately (i.e. avoid parking on the grass and in front of driveways).

We will supply the tools and afternoon tea. Bring your own gardening gloves if you have them (we have spare), a cup for a cuppa after the planting, and your friends and whānau.

Keep an eye on Te Kākano’s website for future planting dates and changes.
