The Wastebusters Repair Revolution is back this winter, bringing another hands-on, feel-good community day of fixing, sharing skills, and helping one another.
Taking place in Wānaka on Sunday 28 June, 10am–2pm at the Wānaka Community Workshop, the event invites the community to bring along well-loved items in need of a little care. From wobbly chairs and busted zips to small household items that have given up, Wastebusters’ volunteer repair heroes will be on hand to help bring them back to life.
Volunteers can assist with a range of repairs, including clothing and zips, toys, small furniture, small electrical items like lamps, toasters and radios, as well as general household fixes and bric a brac.
These events are relaxed, welcoming, and full of good yarns while things get stitched, glued, tightened or tinkered back together. There’s no need to book, just drop in and see what can be repaired.
Wastebusters is also calling for volunteer fixers to get involved. Whether it’s a knack for repairs, a love of problem solving, or simply a willingness to help others, even a few hours can make a real difference. Those interested can sign up at: https://forms.gle/9xYBEgcNauvajs8c7
It’s a proper community day where neighbours help neighbours, one repair at a time.
This Resourceful Communities event is proudly supported by Queenstown Lakes District Council Zero Waste District Programme.
